My Future's So Bright...

Sometimes it's fun to introduce your kids to accessories.

It takes a little getting used to...

But they know when they look good!

9 Months

I realize I am starting to sound like a broken record. A WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE broken record.

Somewhere in our busy day to day in and out up and down lives 9 MONTHS HAVE GONE BY.

Wait while I put the needle on the flip side of the WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE record and play I DON'T REMEMBER TIME GOING BY SO FAST WITH YOUR SISTER.

You have been a busy guy. You are now sporting two shiny little bottom teeth. Good luck to us getting a picture of them, though. I've been trying for the whole month and I usually end up with this:

All gums, no teeth.

You have had a busy month. Lots of travelling and visits and, occasionally, hanging out on the couch with your sister.

You are also trying out some travelling of your own. You never did master the art of rolling over, but you are a pro at scooting yourself all around the floor in search of something to put in your mouth. In just the past few days you have figured out the "pre-crawl stance" and can get up on your hands and knees and rock there a few times before you flop back down on your stomach. Then you cry because you are stuck there (see: not rolling over yet). Otherwise, you are still so pleasant to be around. We don't even seem to mind the spitting up or still waking at 3 am as much as we used to. Don't get us wrong...we still MIND, but just not as much.

I took you for your 9 month check up today. In the grand tradition of growing our children long and lean you are 17 pounds 13 ounces and 29 inches long. That is 10th percentile in weight and 75th percentile in length. Of course, these visits always make me want to compare you to Baby Girl. How much you remind us of her but also how different you are. But that is a post for another day.

For now, we are enjoying spending time with you. Watching you try new things every day. You are eating some table food now and really love your "puff snacks" and are a pro at picking each tiny one up and putting it in your mouth. You recently learned another new trick, and we got a little video of it:

Happy 9 Month Birthday Baby Boy!

Hoppy Easter

I had no idea I would need a recovery period from our Easter Week. I couldn't figure out why I was so tired when we finally went to bed on Sunday night. Then I thought about it...

The week started with an Egg Hunt at the Pool we belong to...

immediately followed by an Egg Hunt with the Newcomers Club that I am President of...

then a mid-week visit from my sister...

with ANOTHER Egg Hunt for our town (and Baby Girl found a special egg to win this awesome basket of goodies)...

then Easter Morning, where we had to look for eggs, open baskets, get dressed, eat breakfast and be out the door by 8:30 am...

so we can go to church with Dr. Dad's family and celebrate Easter at his parents' house with all the cousins, aunts and uncles...

and finally get in the car and drive to my parents' house to complete the day with a visit and dinner!

I need a nap...after I eat this chocolate egg.

Hope your Easter was just as Hoppy!

Swing Time

Baby Boy had his first Easter Egg hunt this past weekend.

He really could have cared less.

However, he had another first that made a big impression...

Baby Girl had a great time gathering eggs and we were able to celebrate the successful outcome of our niece's heart procedure with our family.

A swingin' good time indeed.

Picture Pages

We took the kids to a picture place on Sunday for Easter Pictures.

They also took the first professional pictures of the kids together. Expensive. But they are the only place so far to get Baby Boy to smile like he means it.

I was looking at these pictures again today and realizing what we really had. The family I dreamed of. The picture of the two kids in the coordinating outfits: happy and healthy and ours. Which stirred up a lot of things...

Praying for my 5 year old niece who will undergo a procedure tomorrow to fix the heart condition (SVT) she has had since birth.

Feeling pretty grateful for a husband who works hard and for a tax refund that will help immensely.

Thinking I am still pretty Lucky.
